Parish Kids

You are welcome at worship and so are your children. Our congregations do not expect kids to sit without playing or making noise during services. The CSI Malayalam Congregation have a well-integrated Christian education program (Sunday School) for children on Sunday afternoons.  Outside of service times we also plan parish Play Dates for our kids to catch up, have a bible story, food and some craft time together. Events will be advertised on the Parish Calendar. In addition to children from the parish we pray for families and staff from the St Philip’s Kindergarten next door, and enjoy opportunities to work with that excellent community.

We would like your whole family to feel at home.

Kids at St Philip’s

At St Philip’s we make colouring in available at a couple of places in the church to help kids feel relaxed during worship services. We also have a dedicated children’s play area that includes a range of toys and activities for little people. We want families with children to sit in pews or use the kid’s area as they wish. Sunday school sessions during the worship service are gladly provided for children from 5 yrs when requested.  There is a change table in the women’s toilets of the St Philip’s hall for use by families and games in the hall that kids pull out during morning tea.

Kids at St Clement’s

At St Clement’s we make colouring in available to help kids feel relaxed during worship services. Please ask a Welcomer (who will be at the door on Sunday morning) for colouring in materials and assistance using any facilities in the hall before or after the services. Children are also encouraged to participate in the service – lighting candles or doing bible readings. There is a change table in the disabled toilet of the St Clement’s hall for use by families.

Baptism and Confirmation

We have included information on this site relating to special services and specifically some baptism basics to help answer some of your initial questions. When you are ready to take the next step feel free to make contact with the Parish Priest.

Parish Safety

Children are valued members of our community. Our parish uses the Diocesan Safer Ministry Accreditation for relevant staff. Please check the Anglican Diocese of Adelaide website for more information.
