Rev Dr Santhosh S Kumar
Santhosh, his wife Sheeba and sons Sangeet and Sandeep arrived in Adelaide on Tuesday October 03, 2017 and his Commissioning Service was held on Wednesday October 25th at St Philip’s church, Broadview.
Ordained as a minister of the Church in 1992, Santhosh served a brief period of pastoral ministry in the Church of South India before joining the faculty of the United Theological College, Bangalore, in 1994. He is a Professor of Liturgy and Music and was the Dean of Doctoral and Non-Degree (Research) when he accepted this commission. He has authored several publications and has been a resource person at the Katholieke Universiteit, Leuven, Belgium; MCD University of Divinity, Melbourne; and the Australian Catholic University, Melbourne.
He completed his Batchelor of Divinity from the United Theological College, Bangalore; Master of Theology in Liturgy and Music from the Asian Institute for Liturgy and Music, Manila; and Doctor of Theology from the Melbourne College of Divinity, Australia.
Santhosh’s interests include creative and indigenous liturgies, indigenous music, contributing to courses in Practical Theology, involvement in intercultural and interfaith initiatives, as well as ministry among the elderly. His present academic research is centred on ‘Christian worship in a religiously pluralistic world’.
His free time interests include driving and spending time with nature.
